Evening folks,

Well so much for a relaxing afternoon. I called the oncology ward and spoke at length to a nurse there about my temperature and flushes. They said I was to go in for a check up straight away. The reason was that my temperature was too low at 34C. Which sometimes happens but very rarely and nobody mentioned that to us...only to watch for temperature over 37.5C.

So after some last minute arrangements the kids were sorted and we set off to the hospital not long after the last post.

Many thanks to our caring neighbours and friends...you know who you are :)

After a physical and blood tests. I was told that I was dehydrated and have a viral infection. They said that this viral infection may had developed after the last chemo session and may be the cause for all the troubles last week and the sleepless nights. This also explain the watery output from my stoma which meant that I was losing more fluids than I was taken in. Hence the flushes and tiredness and shortage of breath. Good thing is that they assumed that I am now recovering from it on my own steam but may need some extra help...

So they packed us back home with a prescription for antibiotics and new sleeping tablets. They also recommended that I take some anti diarrhoea tablets as well. It was a relief that we were going home as they mentioned on the phone that I may have to be admitted if they found something wrong with me.

Well time for some sleep.

Nite all,

Sai
