Evening Folks,
Thank you all again for your kind emails and conversations.
I went for my CT scan today it was very uneventful as no matter how hard I try to get the results they would not be ready till late afternoon. I did not want to hang around for that. Anyway I have to go back to hospital on Thursday for a Thyroid scan. So I might ask the doctors then.
Right now I am feeling tired. I had a nap this afternoon as I was up at the crack of dawn to try and beat the traffic to the hospital this morning. I made time and was there before the nurses arrived at the oncology day ward.
Anyone read that article I mentioned in the Sunday times? Its one eye opener...trans fat oils are everywhere. Even in chocolate...Trans fat oils, also known as hydrogenated veg oil..McDonald's use these to cook the chips/fries in..as most fast food places. There even a mention that the US government is thinking of banning it. By the way just google it..you will be surprise what you find.
All my Chemo Buddies are in recovery week. So most of us will just be getting back into the swing of things. For me this one has been a slow recovery. I hope all goes well with my chemo buddies.
Not sure why maybe it is the cold weather. Even with the thermal layers it still make me get these pins and needles feeling. Especially the soles of my feet and my hand. Talk about soles of my feet. They started to turn a funny dark color like the after effects of a bruise. It more on the balls of my feet than anywhere else. Funny thing is that's the areas that was affected by the cold as well. Need to ask the doctors about that next time round.
While I was drinking the CT contrast liquid I got chatting to another chemo patient. He was in with the daughter and wife. He was misdiagnosed last January as his doctor thought he had an ulcer instead of bowl cancer. He is now in his third cycle but due to the misdiagnoses his cancer had spread to his liver and and inflamed it. As a result he is also having trouble breathing. His case was so extreme that once the doctor had the right diagnoses he went straight for an operation to remove his tumor in his bowl. The moral of this is that even some doctors don't know how to diagnose this very treatable disease. If you do your research and have your data ready, I would just go and trouble that doctor of yours. If you have medical insurance as well, I would insists to go for further tests. Even if it means for the peace of the mind. Remember the statistics...1 in 18 of us will develop some form of bowl disease.
On that note, I sign off now and go to my bed..
Nite all,
Sai
