Afternoon Folks,
I am feeling better than expected during this round of chemo blues. What I found annoying this time round are the hot and cold flushes. I seem to be having these more often than before. During the hot flushes I seem to sweat a lot and during the cold I get the old tingles. Nothing much I can do about it except sleep it off. The nausea feeling is still there so I have giving in and decided to take the Protium and Zoflan. I had decided not to take the follow up emend medication and only took that 1 hour before chemo started. Emend adds to the hair lost issue. I think my hair has thinned out a lot. An old tammie sort out that problem.

Anyway enough with me…thank you all for the kind and thoughtful emails. I will try my best to reply to them.

One last snippet…I picked up a copy of the "Reveal" rag mag from the hospital that some left on a chair. I only took it for the TV guide. Honest!!! In it there was a bit about a new wonder food that meant to help defeat cancer. It is capsaicin which comes from red chilli peppers. A dose capsaicin equivalent to three red chilli peppers kills on 80% of cancer cells in mice. But it ends up with a warning that too much chilli peppers can upset the stomach. Also I think that its meant to be eaten raw rather than cooked as cooking can destroy most organic chemicals.
Also in the mag there was a section from Dr Gillian McKeith about a 5 day plan for a flatter tummy. The only thing I found interesting is that the way she said to eat fruit. She recommends that if eating fruit before a meal you should wait at least 30mins before consuming anything else. It is best to eat fruit on an empty stomach. This is to enable the fruit to move down the digestive tracks and stops it fermenting with other foods from producing gas and the bloated feeling. She also highly recommended not to eat fruit after a meal.

Well enough for now…

Later,

Folks.
