Hi Folks,
Spent most of the day reading the Sunday papers...and it does not make good reading...the trouble in Zimbabwe, Russia, Middle East, Nepal, China, Dubai...etc all have a common theme. Corrupt people in power, spending the peoples' money, enticing slave labour, basically money, money, money.... taken advantage of the poor, lower classes, and the desperate for money. I wouldn't go into details so read about them yourself in the Sunday Times.
Anyway with that off my chest it sometimes spring to mind why me... Shouldn't the bad and corrupt people be punished... life is not fair but we have to take it as it is given out to us.
I am a firm believer in fate or "lady luck" and I believe we are all here to serve a purpose. Not sure what mine is...yet I feel blessed to have what I have. I am happy that I have a wonderful wife and three healthy sons. I lived a good life too...despite some dark beginnings...all being well I will live out the rest of my life with my family and friends.
The only thing nagging me are my numb feet and fingers and my side...they are a constant reminder of the what I have. They sometime bring my mood down and I sink into that dark hole called depression. Yet I drift back up when I realised how enriched my life is with what has been handed out to me.
I am considering doing my bit for the environment and am thinking of fitting some solar water heating panels. They said that it going to be a scorcher of a summer so I was thinking why not use the heat to heat up the water. For a typical house it will cost up to €4k but the government can provide grants toward that. I think its €300 per square meter of panels. 4 is typical for a house...a brilliant site is Ecologic. They are suppliers of solar heating gear and they can put you in touch with local installers. The best type of heating is geo thermal. But that is only viable if you have a bit of land to install it. For this project I think I need to save up a bit...
Anyway it is that time again...
Nite All,
Sai
