Evening Folks,

Well another uneventful day at the hospital. I went for the thyroid scan today but I found out that I also needed a ultrasound scan on the thyroid as well as the last one expired two weeks ago. They said that an ultrasound needed to be done at least 6 weeks for a valid radioactive thyroid scan. So I'm a bit radioactive at the moment..giving off gamma radiation at the moment. The element is technetium the isotope that was used have a half life of 24 hours. So I am drinking loads to get it out of my system. Again no results till the radiologist have completed their analysis.

After the scans I dropped down to the oncology day ward to consult with them about my bruising on my soles of my feet. The nurse put me into a room as I was radioactive and cannot go near people that are less than 6 feet from me. She examine my feet and said it was very mild bruising and she said she will consult with a doctor just in case. Well I was in the room for 45 Min's waiting for someone to come and see me. I did not mind as I was watching the latest US episode 11 of Stargate Atlantis. I would had been quite happy in there watching it until I was chucked out of the room as it was needed. So I went back into the day ward and the nurse that I saw earlier came back out and apologies that she already had spoke to one of the doctors and had forgotten about me. Anyway she said that my platelets were 225 and I only should worry about the bruising in it goes below 50. So something new to learn. She also mention the the Avastin would had some cause in the bruising. And I should watch out for nose bleed or any bleeding around my body as it would take a while for any wounds to heal.

Well going for my dinner now. I made Seafood Chowder and some potatoes and shallots roasted in Rosemary with a fair dash of malt vinegar. I was going to make some red cabbage salad tossed in some salt and malt vinegar. But the cabbage was a bit bitter. I might stir fry that instead..
