Enlighted...Maybe !!!

Hi Folks,

It has been another busy day today. We were at the Confucian Society since 7:30am. Today we covered the benefits of becoming vegetarian and the spiritual side of that. It was interesting to listen to the talk. Then we moved on to how the five main "religions" have in common, Islamic,Christianity,Buddhist,Taoist and Confucian. They all have the same common teachings and again it was interesting. Then finally we had a session on the 6 vows that we can make to help ourselves on the correct path to heaven We also covered many aspect of the movement and it is too much to explain here. As we are beginnings we only can make two of the six. One is to past on the word of the Doa (blessing) and the other is to do good deeds.

Nearing the end of the day. I was approached by the master and was ask if I like to participate in a sacred tea ceremony. She knew about my condition and she said that make a vow and drink the tea sincerely. I can have a wish to help me get better. When I heard that I was very emotional with this kind offer. The tea are from five cups from the altar and the ritual of the ceremony was also very moving. My mum, the master and another women had to do a kneeling bow (cultivating) 300 times before the altar. I was nearly overwhelm with emotion when this happened. They are so very kind. There is a lot to learn about this movement. The vow I was asked to make was to not eat anything that had been alive. Fish, seafood, any form of meat for a month.

While I am here if you take the word MEAT and take the two words that you can make form it it is EAT ME...Also the way the Chinese character are two symbols for people on top on one another around a box...people eat people...this is all to do with the spiritual side of vegetarian side of the movement. As people that had not been enlightened can be reincarnated as living animals and marine life. So basically we may be eating our dead gran parents or ancestors. Also the souls of these dead creatures will want penance for eating them and they will follow the meat eater for the rest of their life...I think I interpret that okay...

After this we all for a meal. There we met up with my sister family and my sister-in-law and her family. I kept of the meat stuff and they look so good as well.

I am looking forward to travelling back to Ireland tomorrow. I miss Elaine and the boys a lot.

Nite all,

Sai
