Hello,
Sorry haven't blogged for a couple of days-different reasons;busy, boys keep taking the leads from the laptop and using them upstairs! I'll need to start hiding them.
Sai still in hospital but at last they are managing the pain.AnneMarie the Onc Liason nurse put Dr McDermott straight on the pain Sai was in-he didn't know how bad it was-maybe Sai not shouting loud enough or the dr being there at the wrong time and not seeing Sai when pain was worst.Anyway,he's now on a morphine based painkiller-Orthomorph and MCT,which is control drug and has to be watched being swallowed-patients of a different nature seemingly try to sell these on!Never thought of that happening but there you go-and Sai will def be swallowing his!So his 2nd chemo went well on Wednesday and I took the boys in to visit on Thursday after being at the orthodontist (braces are coming off in a few weeks!) and Sai was looking way better than I thought he would. It was a good visit. The fluid on his abdomen was discussed-the team came in while we were there which was good-boys sent off to the day room-it didnt seem to be too bad but if it did get that way then it would be drained. So the chemo seems to be working on it as planned cos yesterday it was still ok.
I have faith Sai will get through this setback and that's what I have to focus on and what will get me/us through this.
We're selling his wee Golf as it's just sitting on the drive and Sai won't be back to work for a good while-no callers yet!
The boy's are doing fine and just want their dad back home and well again.Ethan's back to school on Tuesday so i'm going to check everything is in order and J and M are back the following week.Forgot to say Sai's blood count was low (white) b4 chemo on Wed but they said yesterday it was back up again so that was good news!He had two other lots of visitors yesterday too so that was nice and gave him something to think about.Ethan and I went over around 6 30pm for a while.Sai walked us down to the shop/door which he hasn't done at all this time.I met a woman from Enfield in the shop-knew each other's faces but werent sure of names-her daughter was in Michael's class at primary and they go to the same secondary school and chat on the schol bus etc,Helen her name is.Anyway, her mum was at the hospital because her husband had had a bad fall last week.He fell 30ft on a building site and he has brain damage. His spine is fine but has various broken bones.I'm assuming the brain damage is permanent as she didnt say otherwise but you never know.Their lives have all changed in the click of a finger. My heart goes out to them. You see how precious life is and how we should enjoy every day.
We're going to go up swimming now so I'll try and get the boys motivated-not easy sometimes!
Later,E.
