Hi Folks,
Elaine here.Sai's not back on full track yet but is getting there.Things have been busy around here, what with our GP popping in Thursday,Friday and yesterday-(I said we were honoured for a home visit and it's taken 10 yrs for that to happen!i'm cheeky, aren't i ?!he knows my sense of humour by now)....anyway,Friday we had the district /public nurse here,Helena the Home Care Team from Navan here and also a rep from the company that makes the drug/injection Neulasta that Sai has to have every 2nd Friday all showed up at the same time!- all with Sai's well being in mind which is comforting to know-the health system works.
Sai kind of mentioned in his last update (which is meant to say body, not boby-he was a bit spaced still i think) that he's o d' on his Oramorph .In hospital he always had 20ml ,so Sai assumed that was what to take at home, only it comes in different strengths -so basically Sai took 4 times the dose he was meant to! I should have been more aware too.Our gp asked on Friday was he confused or hallucinating etc but he wasn't at that stage,he was fine-but by Sat afternoon then it showed up.I came home after bringing Ethan home from a party and Sai was acting a bit odd, after that as the day went on it was like he was drunk which I have rarely seen (Sai's a bit of a control freak and was never into going to the pub) I tucked him into bed at 8 45m and he arrived back downstairs at 9pm,after being in the toilet for 5 mins too and said he'd had a sleep and felt wide awke now! He thought he's been sleeping for hours.Ok,time to call the doctor on call and ask advice-they decided to send a doctor out to check him as an infection can also cause these symptoms-anyway it was the effect of the Oramorph od.On Sunday he was back to normal, thankfully. He had thought he was somewhere else at times on Sat too amongst other things .
Back on track now-need to hurry this up as Sai has just txt me (!) from his bed asking for sausages, egg and bread with brown sauce-nice for some! He has hospital this afternoon, just the one drug infusion this week so not so bad.
my friend Jenny is visiting this weekend so be good to have a visitor.Sai had 2 worky visitors last night too,Billy and Liam-nice to see you guys!I had to go to Mike's school for meeting re his German exchange trip next week.My wee boy,he's never been away from home,i'm a bit nervous about it but i'm sure he'll be fine.Worms is where they're going. It's an 800 yr old school and the itinerary is all set out-the Germans are very organised and Mike's school isn't so much-that's the laid back Irish for you (no offence!).
Better go get the food and all the other stuff that needs doing...bye for now.E.x
