Friday-Phew!

Hello Folks,
Well-geez louise,not a day I want to repeat ,waiting to hear how Sai was.So,he's doing fine and as most of you know surgery went well.Nothing was removed as I had thought that was what the (male) nurse said-he had trouble reading the docs writing .The surgeons untangled Sai's intestine as it had gotten very twisted and I'm still not sure how that happened.So,gunk and fluids were all trapped in there so they sorted that out.Sai has 6 or more tubes attached at present but he should be home in 7-10 days.At least that horrible pain in his stomach which he's had for weeks,well months will be gone.He was understandably very tired but comfortable and cant wait to eat -next week!

The nurses came in to his room to change his lines etc-they said" it should take about 15 mins" and i said ok---"oh,you want me to leave? "well,could they not just have asked me that? "Oh do you mind?" one asked ,so I said "well I don't seem to have much choice".Well,i know they have a job to do and an important one but what do they think I haven't seen before?Anyway,don't mean to moan because the staff at Tallaght are great,really lovely.I missed Emmet the registrar but the nurse paged him and he called back so I spoke to him about what had happened with Sai-and this always happens but i cant remember half of what he told me! He was heading back into surgery or he would have come back and talked to me- a really lovely doctor.

Anyway,another hurdle just about cleared!I did pick my mum up from airport last night-amazingly I pulled up at departures and she was just coming out the airport door-how often does that happen? Hardly ever is the answer!
Looking back at yesterday's blog I realised I told everyone my weight! Think i was a bit hyper!Ah well,who cares!

There's a lovely woman Helen in the next room to Sai who we both know.Sai met her in Oncology Day Ward-she has same as Sai.I spotted she was admitted and was in chatting to her and her daughter who is getting married soon .So hopefully she'll be feeling better soon but it was lovely to chat to them.
