Evening Folks,
It was sad saying bye to my mum and sister today. It was good to have them around and speak to.They were let down by the bus company as the bus was 30mins late arriving in Enfield. At least the bus stopped for them this time round. My mum is thinking about coming over again in October with my uncle from Canada. It would be nice to see them both again.
Anyway I was surfing as usual and came across the AICR website. From the website the following best describes the condition I have.
"In Hereditary Non-Polyposis Colorectal Cancer (also called Lynch Syndrome), patients develop cancer of the bowels and other organs, usually at an early stage. However, these conditions are very rare and only cause one in twenty cases of bowel cancer. Overall, the risk of bowel cancer doubles if you have a close relative (parent, bother or sister) with this cancer"
Again the from the AICR website diet plays a major factor in the development of bowel cancer.
Another thing I found is that the UK are offering free home test packs for testing blood in stools, which is one of the major symptoms of bowel cancer. At the moment these are only for people over 60 which is no good for people under that age - there are more occurrences of bowel cancer in people under 40 now! I even found these tests on eBay. The parent company website is here
I wrote an email to Mary Harney TD to request more awareness for bowel cancer. Her ministry web page is here. I'll see what the reply is.
Well enough ranting for now.
Later,
Sai.
