Well it has been an eventful day today.
To start off with we phoned the various bodies to try and sort out our can or a extension of our hire car. Now we found out that all parts numbers for our model of car in Ireland are incorrect. So parts for our car will not be ready till the end of this month or the beginning of July. This is now going into 7 weeks since that fateful accident. Now we didn't even get this information from Mazda or from the garage the car is in but from the insurance body that covers the ambulance. The reason why they had to know was that we had requested them to pay for our car hire and they needed a date for when our car will be ready and the earliest they can fathom out was the 5th of July. It was a shame none of the other companies had the decency to call us and let us know. As usual it is left to us to sort things out...
With that over we set out to my hospital appointment with my surgical team. They had finally signed me off their books and the doctors are very pleased with my recovery. They also wish me all the best in St Vincents. We also went to visit the oncology day ward on advice from the surgical team to make sure that all my scans had been sent to St Vincents. If my scans were not sent then the visit to St Vincents on Wednesday will be a waste of time, as the liver specialist will require to inspect my scans to make a prognosis. There we met up with the staff and spoke to the doctor that actually prepared my scans for delivery to St Vincents. They all wished me luck on the next venture. I also heard very good reports from them on the liver specialist. Apparently the specialist had worked and trained in Tallaght hospital and transferred to St Vincents. The specialist I'm told is also the best in Ireland. So I am comforted to know that I will be in good hands...
We came home and had dinner. Then it was a rush to take the kids out to the junior fishing league. I almost forgotten about it and was glad that we were not the last to arrive. The kids had a wonderful time and between them they only managed to catch 1 fish. A few got away...now they are discussing going out fishing with their pals during the week...Yippee...they finally going to spend time away from the box. I knew that they needed a little push to get them interested in anything outside the house. They are very like their mother....I say no more in case I get into trouble again...
In saying that....no just kidding...well...nope...anyway the night did drag on we did not get home till 10:30pm. I had given up looking on at 8:30 as the wind was making me uncomfortable. So I sat in the car till they all arrived back. I would had came home earlier if not for some umpty blocking the my way out. Another reason for giving up was that Ethan had tangled up his line twice and I could not feel the line to re thread his pole again. So Ethan was watching his brothers and pals fishing. They all had a blast...
Now talking about fishing gear. I thought we were sufficient equipped for the fishing tonight. By the looks of the other lads and lassies equipment tonight we were in the way down in the lower league. Kids had mega long poles and aluminum boxes for their gear. Some even had umbrellas to fend off the wind...I see how long the kids interest are in fishing. If they are still keen and finances are available I might get them some good gear for their Xmas...One of the lads tonight had caught 15 fish and he had all the top line of gear. One part of his equipment was a long pole with a wee scope to drop ground bait around his line. We have to get one of those. Another thing I thought there were only one size of maggots...a lad tonight had two different sizes...we definitely need to move up a gear or two...
Aprt from the cold tonight and a little tired I felt fine today. Nothing much doing tomorrow so I will take it easy then.
Now to help me get the kids some new fishing gear I had signed up with Play.com, they will pay me a commission if readers order stuff via the following link...I know a lot of people order stuff from them..so please pass on the link as well...or any of the links above.
Now the Short Bowel Syndrome. Before readers read on this may be a TMI (Too Much Information) part. So be warned...I was told today that I am suffering from it as they had removed 20cm of bowel from my rectum upwards when they removed my lump. So what they had stitched together is a smaller diameter of bowel that has less capacity before hence the numerous visit to the toilet during the day...I'm gad I knew that now...ehhh! I was also told this will settle down with time..phew !!!
With that I bid you all good night...
Nite All,
Sai
